give us today our daily bread

I think this is one of the best pictures i’d ever take. It was the third shoot of the serie and it has everything that a photograph needs to be a good picture for me. First the light. There is an hour in noon called “the magic time” when the light is soft and warm. I’d like to think that the light in this picture is the manifestation of God comforting the praying woman. Second, the moment. I like the naturalist expression of the moments and the way they can evoke an honest feeling. Also, there’s a story behind any moment captured in a photograph. Hundred of questions emerges and the answers are flexible enough for the imagination allows.

There is another curious element: why she praying in a comercial center. It’s kind of weird the relationship between the consumerism and the religious beliefs. For some people, crhistianity is about guilt, and in the other hand consumerism is about satisfaction. So what is this image about, maybe could be for the guilt on the wish to buy. I know it could be a forced interpretation, but is not to far from reality.

ナンバーワン

I really like animals. They’re funny and some of ‘em are very tender and faithful, like Kinshiro, the number one. He is the first dog  I’ve ever had and that’s why “the number one”  nickname. I really like him. In the time we spent together, when I went out on a bicycle ride he always came with me, running by my side.

I went by him to the Canine Rescue Center of Ñuñoa, wide away from my house. He was just a puppy, so I putted him into my backpack with his little head looking out trough the zipper and ride my bike back home. He is a smart dog, very youthful and athletic. But for destiny matters I had to leave him.

Today, he is far away in Lampa, probably running behing the rabbits to catch them. I really wish that he have a great time, he deserves it. I’m waiting to have enough money to fix my bike, and then visit him.

Zooming eyes

Maybe is too obvious, but my favorite piece of technology is a camera. Not necesary a cinema camera, but one that can record motion pictures. I think this is the greatest machine for representation, allowing to capture life in pieces. This, as romantic way to appreciate it.

Actually i don’t have a camera, excepting for the one on my mobile. So, the way it likes me as a favorite piece of technology, it’s more conceptually than materially. But this doesn’t mean that i never had one. “My” first camera was a Sony Hi8 handycam, which i used mainly to recording a vacation trip with my

There’s a main difference between cinema cameras and camcorders, the zoom. This  button allows to get into a part of the frame, but without cut the recording. It’s a great feature for domestic record, very used in the ninties. Today, there is a korean filmaker who still using this camera movement, Hong Sang-soo and it’s a great way to reframe the escene.
